Summer with rain

Monkey's stick

As I walked down the street she told me the tree is called Monkey’s stick, scientific name is Cassia fistula , aka Golden shower, it’s the state flower of Kerla and national tree of Thailand, the fruits can be used as a laxative, the bark can be used for treating ulcers and skin disease. what a interesting name and sight the flowers are on a summer night.

This calendar was a lunar calendar, and its new year did not coincide with the solar agricultural cycles. According to some sources, the festival was a tradition introduced in Bengal during the rule of Mughal Emperor Akbar to time the tax year to the harvest.
