The Siberian Rubythroat, the visitor from Syberia spotted today at Jharkhand, the weather was all gloomy like it is in Siberia I presume, when we spotted the bird.
The Siberian rubythroat (Calliope calliope) is a small passerine bird first described by Peter Simon Pallas in 1776. It was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family, Turdidae, but is now more generally considered to be an Old World flycatcher of the family Muscicapidae.
It is a migratory insectivorous species breeding in mixed coniferous forests with undergrowth in Siberia. It nests near the ground. It winters in Thailand, India, Indonesia and Bangladesh
Its approx 4283 km, so not as vast as we would have thought tiget,
to put in perspoective its approx Jamshedpur to meghalaya 2 trips, Up and Down included
