Headed to Bir Biling,in Himachal Pradesh, day 1

 

Some of the winners of medals at the Olympic's have their murals on city streets of Delhi, very commendable.

 

We are on a trip to Himachal Pradesh, a road trip but by car not Motorbike, so creature comforts galore, 3 of us, Ravi and his daughter and myself.

2 others have dropped out but the show must go on, and we are heading out.

 

 

 

Up at 0600 hours and we are taking it easy the first day, maybe cover only 300 odd KM,

 

We were out by 0730 and temperatures and temper were cool around, as we headed out,

 Smooth rides to Murthal where there were fancy Dhaba's, which were huge, and we decided too try the food there.

 

 

Tandoori Onion Paratha and Tandoori Gobi Paratha and curd along with Tea were the order and set us back by Rs 500.

 

 

 

  Interestingly I noticed a wine shop right on the National Highway, which I thought was not allowed, anyway it is there and we were on our way, My Friend did the honors of driving for most part of the day and by 1255 we were nearing Annandpur Sahib, we decided to take a bathroom stop, but the food smelled so nice we chose to eat and it was

Paneer(cottage Cheese)  butter, Dal makhana, Roti Rice, Salad, loads of Food and it again set us back by Rs 600, very reasonable I say.

 

  1400 hours and we were at Annandpur sahib, and spend an hour there enjoying the sights and just being there, before we completed the final bit of the journey. 

 

 

 We stopped for a coconut water break, which might have balanced our electrolytes,  maybe that' s why we are not  as tired as we could have been.

  We are at Una and stopping here at 1700 hours, we are in no hurry and this looks like a nice hotel New York where they have categorically told us no Outside food is allowed.

other stay options in UNA.   looks classy , don't know the rates.

 

Wonder what tomorrow holds for us, as we go to Bir Billing, in Himachal, Stay tuned.
